About us
This started with one Ashland resident who didn't want mass surveillance rolled out on the Northwoods quietly, after license-plate cameras went up around here with no public vote and no way to opt out. Right now it's a small effort, and the goal is to bring in more neighbors across northern Wisconsin and the wider Northwoods. If that's you, get in touch.
We are not a party and we are not anti-police. We're for a public vote, clear rules, and local control over what gets watched. Everything we put out is sourced, and everything we do stays lawful and nonviolent. If we ever get a fact wrong, we fix it.
How we work
- Provable facts only. One exaggeration discredits everyone, so we cite our sources and let them carry the weight.
- Cross-spectrum. Privacy, cost, and government overreach reach people left and right. This is not a partisan cause.
- In the open. We win at council and county-board meetings, in records requests, and in public opinion, never with vandalism.
